Prague is the capitol of the Czech Republic, a/k/a Czechia, and it is absolutely incredible! My trip to Prague was a short stopover on my way to Ostrava to attend TBEX Europe 2018.

This was my first time in the Czech Republic, I arrived in Prague a day later than planned due to a flight delay in London. I made my way to my Airbnb, I had to meet the brother of my Airbnb host as he was not available. After settling in, we took a walk around the area and stopped in at an old bowling alley. It had just 4 lanes in it and I can’t believe I didn’t take any pictures.

The first night I was to meet a group from Travel Massive prior to the TBEX conference in Ostrava.  I took an Uber from the Airbnb and was just mesmerized by everything that I saw. The meet-up took place at Mánes Exhibit Hall. They had a beautiful outside patio area where our event was held. Let the networking begin! I met some pretty interesting people, and am still in contact with some. For me, that’s good, I’m a little on the shy side when in a large group. I am new at traveling and a little unsure of myself, I don’t feel I have enough knowledge to carry on an intelligent conversation, so I ask questions and listen.

After our meet-up, I was so in awe of this city, that I walked around for hours before heading to my Airbnb for the night. I couldn’t believe the buildings, the detail, how ornate. I’d never seen anything like it. I made my way along the Vitava River to the Charles Bridge. Checked out the old buildings at start of the bridge and made my way across towards the castle.

My second day consisted of an architectural tour of the city. Our tour guide was wonderful, Eva Vondrusová with CAT Guided Tours. We met in the City Hall and headed to the Old Town Square to start our excursion. There was a lot to see and I’ve dedicated a page to the tour. Click on the button to the right to see some pretty awesome architecture.

I mentioned earlier that I was delayed in my arrival to Prague. My flight through British Airways was cancelled due to crew illness. There were 2 flights cancelled, so it was a very long line to get a new flight out the next day and get set up with accommodations and transportation for that evening. In fact, it was a good 4 hour wait, standing in line. I was sent to a hotel with 4 others. We all had dinner together, and I met up with a lady and her niece from Australia once we got to Prague for dinner and the visit to the underground. Everywhere I go, I meet great people.
